Chocolate Cake Balls Recipe

This chocolate cake ball recipe uses applesauce and no eggs and makes moist little cake balls that are the very best eaten the day they are made.

Ingredients

1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/8 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup confectioners' sugar to coat

Makes about 48 cake balls

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Line a couple of baking tray with parchment paper.

Beat together cocoa powder, butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in apple sauce and vanilla.

in a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to wet ingredients and mix till well incorporated.

Form dough into balls and place onto prepared baking tray. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let cool. Coat with confectioners sugar and serve.
